The Educational Administration of Mahayana Chinese Buddhist of Sangha in Thailand

Abstract

The purpose of this reserch was determine Educational Administration of Mahayana Chinese Buddhist Order of Sangha in Thailand. It was a historical research study by the historical documentary and interviewed in procedural basis: 1) Collecting and analyzing data as evidence from the historical documentary of the Chinese Buddhist, the Chinese people, Chinese monk and the administration from the past to present and future. 2) Interviewing the Supreme Patriarch of Mahayana Chinese Buddhist priest who is the professional Buddhist and Chinese Instructor. 3) Analyzing the data to make a conclusion based on the historical data gathered.

The finding of the research shown that:

The Educational Administration of Mahayana Chinese Buddhist Order of Sanga in Thailand had been administrating since 1871. It had been divided into 3 parts. (1) The Educational Administration had been divided into 3 periods. (1) From 1871-1936, It had been managed in the monastery like Mahayana Chinese in China. The curriculum was divided into 3 levels: low, middle and high. Discipline, Tripitaka. Sutra, Ordinance and Mahayana philosophy were taught in Chinese. (2) From 1936-1954, Lub Fah Monastery Institution had been founded, in order to develop discipline, hierocracy, practice and education. During these years, this Institution had a very progressive growth because Chinese Buddhist priests could arrange ordination in Thailand under The Sanga Act. (3) From 1954-1986, two Phrapariyattidhamma Schools Identities of Chinese Buddhist Sects were legally built under The Sanga Act,. These were Buddhism Acadamy at Wat Pho Yen monastery and Wat Bhoman Khunaram monastery (2) The Educational Administration (from1987 to the present) has been managing in Phrapariyattidhamma Schools Identities of Chinese Buddhist Sects, for expanding basic education opportunities to the youth, and preaching religion by the same time as creating heirs.(3) The education administration will be consisted of the following projects: The project of Acadimic Cooperation Program with Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, The Project of Cooperation Program with the Institute of Chinese Learning Support for Foreigners (Hanban), of Mae Fah Loung University, The Project of Establishment of Higher Education Institution of Chinese Sects., The Supplementary Project to promote the Chinese Sects Monks, in continuing education for doctoral level, The Project to establish Chinese Culture Center, The Project to establish Chinese Buddhist Sects Charity school. and the Project to establish the International Buddhism Research Institute of Chinese Sects.

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อทราบการบริหารจัดการศึกษาของคณะสงฆ์จีนนิกาย การวิจัยนี้ เป็นการวิจัยเชิงประวัติศาสตร์ ศึกษาโดยการค้นคว้าเอกสาร หลักฐานทางประวัติศาสตร์ และการสัมภาษณ์ ดำเนินการวิจัยโดยขั้นตอนวิธีการ 1) รวบรวมและวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลจากเอกสาร หลักฐานทางประวัติศาสตร์ที่เกี่ยวกับ พระพุทธศาสนามหายาน ประวัติศาสตร์ชาวจีนในไทย ประวัติคณะสงฆ์จีนนิกาย และการบริหารจัดการศึกษา ของคณะสงฆ์จีนนิกาย ในอดีต ปัจจุบัน และแนวโน้มในอนาคต 2) สัมภาษณ์พระราชาคณะจีนนิกาย ผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ ทางประวัติศาสตร์ พระพุทธศาสนา และจีนวิทยา 3) รวบรวมข้อมูลเพื่อนำไปสู่การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลและสรุปผล ตามวิธีการทางประวัติศาสตร์

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า การบริหารจัดการศึกษาของคณะสงฆ์จีนนิกาย มีการดำเนินการมาตั้งแต่การก่อตั้ง คณะสงฆ์ ในปี พ.ศ. 2414 ถึงปัจจุบัน แบ่งเป็น 3 ช่วง คือ 1) การบริหารจัดการศึกษาในอดีต สามารถแบ่งได้ 3 ระยะ คือ (1) พ.ศ. 2414 – 2479 มีการบริหารจัดการศึกษาภายในวัด ตามรูปแบบสำนักเรียนในประเทศจีน มีหลักสูตรแบ่งออกเป็น 3 ระดับ คือ ระดับต้น ระดับกลาง และระดับสูง โดยศึกษาพระธรรมวินัย พระสูตรคัมภีร์ ศาสนพิธี ปรัชญามหายาน ใช้ภาษาจีนในการเรียนการสอน (2) พ.ศ. 2479 – 2497 เริ่มก่อตั้งสำนักสงฆ์หลับฟ้า เพื่อฟื้นฟูระเบียบแบบแผน การปกครอง วัตรปฏิบัติ และการศึกษา ซึ่งในระยะนี้สำนักเรียนมีความเติบโตก้าวหน้า ขึ้นมาก เพราะคณะสงฆ์จีนนิกาย สามารถจัดบรรพชาอุปสมบทในประเทศไทยได้ เป็นไปตามพระธรรมวินัย และพระราชบัญญัติคณะสงฆ์ (3) พ.ศ. 2497 – 2529 มีการจัดตั้งโรงเรียนพระปริยัติศึกษาของคณะสงฆ์จีนนิกาย ซึ่งเป็นแนวทางตามพระราชบัญญัติคณะสงฆ์ ที่มีรูปแบบมาตรฐาน 2 แห่ง คือ โรงเรียนพระปริยัติศึกษาวัน วัดโพธิ์เย็น และโรงเรียนสังฆปริยัติศึกษา วัดโพธิ์แมนคุณาราม 2) การบริหารจัดการศึกษาในปัจจุบัน (พ.ศ. 2530 – ปัจจุบัน) มีการบริหารจัดการศึกษาในรูปแบบโรงเรียนพระปริยัติธรรม แผนกสามัญศึกษา เพื่อขยายโอกาสทางการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐานแก่เยาวชน พร้อมไปกับการเผยแผ่ศาสนา และการสร้างศาสนทายาท 3) แนวโน้มการบริหารจัดการศึกษาของคณะสงฆ์จีนนิกายในอนาคต มีการดำเนินงานจัดตั้งโครงการต่าง ๆ ได้แก่ (1) โครงการความร่วมมือทางวิชาการกับมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏสวนสุนันทา (2) โครงการความร่วมมือทางวิชาการ กับสถาบันสนับสนุนการเรียนภาษาจีนสำหรับชาวต่างชาติ (Hanban) มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง (3) โครงการ จัดตั้งสถาบันอุดมศึกษาของคณะสงฆ์จีนนิกาย (4) โครงการส่งเสริมบรรพชิตในคณะสงฆ์จีนนิกาย ให้การศึกษาต่อในระดับปริญญาเอก (5) โครงการจัดตั้งศูนย์การศึกษาภาษาและวัฒนธรรมจีน (6) โครงการ จัดตั้งโรงเรียนการกุศลในพระพุทธศาสนาของคณะสงฆ์จีนนิกาย และ (7) โครงการจัดตั้งสถาบันวิจัย พระพุทธศาสนานานาชาติของคณะสงฆ์จีนนิกาย
