THE TERMS OF ADDRESSING FEMALE IN SONGS AUTHORED BY PAIBOON BUTRKHAN

Abstract

The objectives of the study of the woman addressing terms in the songs of Kru Paiboon Butrkhan are to study the structure and the meaning of the woman addressing terms, and the views that men have about women reflected through such the woman addressing terms. The data are collected from the 58 songs written by Kru Paiboon Butrkhan. The results of this research reveal one hundred and ninety words of the woman addressing terms.

The study of the structure indicates that there are 9 types of structure patterns thus: 1. One-part structure {keyword} 2. One-part structure {keyword + (modifier)} 3. One-part structure {prefix + keyword / (modifier)} 4. A two-part structure that appears with modifiers {keyword + (modifier)} + (modifier) 5. A two-part structure that appears with modifiers {prefix + keyword / (modifier)} + (modifier) 6. A two-part structure that appears with modifiers (modifier) + {prefix + keyword / (modifier)} 7. A two-part structure that appears with extensions {keyword} + [keyword + (modifier)] 8. A two-part structure that appears with extensions {keyword + (modifier)} + [keyword + (modifier)] 9. A two-part structure that appears with extensions {prefix + keyword} + [keyword + (modifier)]

In addition, the study of the meaning of the woman addressing terms also shows that there are 9 groups as follows: 1. The woman addressing terms means beauty, 2. The woman addressing terms means love, 3. The woman addressing terms means age and youth, 4. The woman addressing terms means valuableness, 5. The woman addressing terms means honor, 6. The woman addressing terms means auspiciousness, 7. The woman addressing terms means status, 8. The woman addressing terms means domicile, 9. The woman addressing terms means common woman, not specific meaning.

Furthermore, it has also been found that the beauty is the most important point of view that men have about women reflected through such the woman addressing terms.

การศึกษาเรื่องคำเรียกผู้หญิงในบทเพลงของครูไพบูลย์ บุตรขัน มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาโครงสร้างและความหมายของคำเรียกผู้หญิง และศึกษามุมมองที่ผู้ชายมีต่อผู้หญิงที่สะท้อนผ่านคำเรียกผู้หญิงดังกล่าว โดยเก็บข้อมูลจากบทเพลงที่ครูไพบูลย์ บุตรขัน ประพันธ์ จำนวน 58 บทเพลง พบคำเรียกผู้หญิงทั้งหมด 190 คำ
