dc.description.abstractThis study aimed to examine the teachers’ perception of the Cambridge Global English learner’s book 1 in an elementary school in Thailand. It also aimed to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the Cambridge Global English learner’s book 1. Both quantitative and qualitative methods were used to achieve the research objectives. The sample was nine foreign language elementary teachers teaching English in central Thailand. The instrument consisted of a survey questionnaire and interviews. The questionnaire was answered by nine participants, while there were five participants were interviewed to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the Cambridge Global English learner’s book 1. The data were analyzed using statistical tools and thematic analysis. The results revealed that “the teacher's PowerPoint slides are helpful” In addition, “the culture presented in the book is inappropriate for the Thai context.” Thus, this book needs to have its material reviewed from a Thai cultural perspective. It was also revealed Cambridge Global English learner’s book 1 strongly emphasizes intonation, word syllables, rhyming words, and four macro skills.  en
