CULTURAL LANDSCAPES: DESIGN FOR A SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY CONCEPT OFSUFFICIENCY ECONOMY PHILOSOPHY, CASE STUDY BAN MOH LUANG LAMPANG

Abstract

The research “CULTURAL LANDSCAPES: DESIGN FOR A SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY FROM THE CONCEPT OF SUFFICIENCY ECONOMY PHILOSOPHY: A CASE STUDY OF BAN MOH LUANG, LAMPANG PROVINCE” has objectives to 1) Examine Cultural Landscape, Sustainable Design, Sufficiency Economy Philosophy from Ban Moh Luang Community, Lampang province to produce its collective identities. 2) Analyzing to gain methods to create Sustainable Design based on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy and 3) Conforming to the local community to maintain sustainability by creating Model which participates them so it can be adaptive within the area. The researcher uses Qualitative Research and Participatory Action Research and Conscientization (PAR) by interviewing and discussing the population of Ban Moh Luang and local organizations, then analyzing to gain advanced knowledge by Design Thinking conformed to the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy.

The research shows that the Cultural Landscape of Ban Moh Luang has environmental factors, Natural resources, and Cultural factors that significantly can be used to create a collective identity. The Sufficiency Economy Philosophy which relates to the community can also be used to create knowledge that supports 3 factors which is environment, culture, and economy. The researcher developed a model named “Nava Bhumi Model” (Model of 9 Elements) which contains 1) History 2) Geography 3) Landscape 4) Proud 5) Geosocial 6) Wisdom 7) Ecology 8) Immunity and 9) Moral sense. The model becomes a guideline/ an occasion to participate for Ban Moh Luang community, other communities can also learn more about the model to adapt it to be suitable within the area.

The suggestion for the next research in the future in case there is any sponsorship from organizations to support “Nava Bhumi Model” is that there should be additional or separated internal factors so the project could be more successful compared to relying on a limited budget. The design extension also needs to be based on solid working plans so the community can use the model to adapt and gain support from Mae Moh power plant founding or from other local organizations within the areas to maintain sustainability.

การวิจัยเรื่อง “ภูมิทัศน์วัฒนธรรม: การออกแบบเพื่อชุมชนที่ยั่งยืนจากแนวคิดหลักปรัชญาของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง กรณีศึกษาชุมชนบ้านเมาะหลวง จังหวัดลำปาง” มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาภูมิทัศน์วัฒนธรรม สิ่งแวดล้อม ศิลปวัฒนธรรม สังคม-เศรษฐกิจ ในชุมชนบ้านเมาะหลวง จังหวัดลำปาง เพื่อสร้าง อัตลักษณ์ร่วมของชุมชน 2) ศึกษาแนวคิดหลักปรัชญาเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงที่สอดคล้องกับชุมชนบ้านเมาะหลวง จังหวัดลำปาง เพื่อเป็นแนวทางในการสร้างสรรค์งานออกแบบ 3) สร้างสรรค์งานออกแบบสำหรับชุมชน บ้านเมาะหลวง จังหวัดลำปาง เพื่อความยั่งยืน โดยการสร้างแม่แบบ (Model) ให้ชุมชนได้มีส่วนร่วมและนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ในพื้นที่ โดยผู้วิจัยใช้ระเบียบวิธีการวิจัยในเชิงคุณภาพ และการวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการแบบมี ส่วนร่วมและกระบวนการทางจิตสำนึก (Participatory Action Research and Conscientization) หรือ PAR โดยการใช้เครื่องมือแบบสัมภาษณ์และการสนทนากลุ่มกับกลุ่มเป้าหมายซึ่งเป็นประชากรในชุมชนบ้านเมาะหลวงและองค์กรในพื้นที่ แล้วนำข้อมูลมาวิเคราะห์ สังเคราะห์ ผ่านกระบวนการออกแบบ ด้วย Design Thinking ที่สอดคล้องกับแนวคิดหลักปรัชญาของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง

ผลของการศึกษาพบว่า การศึกษามิติมุมมองภูมิทัศน์วัฒนธรรมของชุมชนบ้านเมาะหลวง มีต้นทุนทางสิ่งแวดล้อม ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ ทุนทางศิลปวัฒนธรรม สามารถนำมาสร้างอัตลักษณ์ของชุมชนได้อย่างชัดเจน และสามารถนำหลักปรัชญาของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงที่มีความสอดคล้องกับชุมชน มาใช้บูรณาการเพื่อสร้างองค์ความรู้ ให้ตอบโจทย์ทั้ง 3 ด้าน ได้แก่ ด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม ด้านศิลปวัฒนธรรม ด้านสังคม-เศรษฐกิจ โดยผู้วิจัยได้สร้างแนวคิดโมเดล “นวภูมิ” เพื่อสร้างสรรค์เป็นผลงานออกแบบจากภูมิทั้ง 9 ได้แก่ 1) ภูมิหลัง (History) 2) ภูมิศาสตร์ (Geography) 3) ภูมิทัศน์ (Landscape) 4) ภูมิใจ (Proud) 5) ภูมิสังคม (Geosocail) 6) ภูมิปัญญา (Wisdom) 7) ภูมินิเวศ (Ecology) 8) ภูมิคุ้มกัน (Immunity) 9) ภูมิธรรม (Moral Sense) โดยเป็นแนวทางให้ชุมชนบ้านเมาะหลวงได้มีส่วนร่วมและนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ในพื้นที่ หรือชุมชนอื่น ๆ ได้ศึกษาแม่แบบ (Model) เพื่อนำไปปรับใช้ให้เหมาะสม

ข้อเสนอแนะในการทำวิจัยในอนาคตหากได้รับการสนับสนุนทุนจากหน่วยงานต่าง ๆ ควรมีการลงรายละเอียดงานจากแนวคิดโมเดล “นวภูมิ” อาจมีการแยกส่วนเพื่อให้ได้ผลสำเร็จมากขึ้นกว่าการทำเพียงต้นแบบด้วยทุนที่จำกัด การต่อยอดผลงานการออกแบบ ควรมีการเขียนแผนงานเพื่อให้ชุมชนใช้เป็นต้นแบบในการนำไปประยุกต์ใช้งานเพื่อได้รับการสนับสนุนจากงบประมาณเงินกองทุนรอบโรงไฟฟ้าแม่เมาะ หรือ งบสนับสนุนจากองค์กรของรัฐในพื้นที่ เพื่อความยั่งยืนต่อไป
