THE DEVELOPMENT OF READING COMPREHENSION ABILITY AND READING ENGAGEMENT OF PRATHOMSUKSA 4 STUDENTS USING HERRINGBONE TECHNIQUE AND MORAL ENHANCEMENT STORY

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to 1) compare students' reading comprehension abilities before and after using learning management, 2) compare students' reading engagement before and after learning management, and 3) study the opinion of students about learning activities. The samples were 11 students from Prathomsuksa 4 of Wat Chak Makrut School, Rayong Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, in the first semester of the academic year 2024. They were selected through simple random sampling. The research instruments were: 1) 4 lesson plans, 2) a comprehensive test of reading ability with 4 multiple choices, 3) an assessment of reading engagement, and 4) questionnaires on students' opinions on learning activities. Data were analyzed using mean (M), standard deviation of items (SD), and t-test dependence.

The research findings were as follows:

1. Students' reading comprehension ability after instruction was higher than before instruction and was statistically significant at the .05 level.

2. Student reading engagement after instruction was higher than before instruction, with statistical significance at the .05 level.

3. Results of examining students' opinions on learning management activities. Overall there was a high level of agreement (M=2.85, SD=0.08).

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อ 1) เปรียบเทียบความสามารถการอ่านจับใจความของนักเรียน ก่อนและหลังการจัดการเรียนรู้ 2) เปรียบเทียบความผูกพันในการอ่านของนักเรียนก่อนและหลังการจัดการเรียนรู้ และ 3) ศึกษาความพึงพอใจของนักเรียน ที่มีต่อการจัดการเรียนรู้ กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 4 โรงเรียนวัดชากมะกรูด สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษาประถมศึกษาระยอง เขต 2 ภาคเรียนที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2567 จำนวน 11 คน ได้มาโดยวิธีการสุ่มอย่างง่าย (Simple Random Sampling) โดยใช้โรงเรียนเป็นหน่วยสุ่ม เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ 1) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ จำนวน 4 แผน 2) แบบทดสอบวัดความสามารถการอ่านจับใจความ แบบปรนัย 4 ตัวเลือก 3) แบบประเมินความผูกพันในการอ่าน และ 4) แบบประเมินความพึงพอใจของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 4 สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้ คือ ค่าเฉลี่ย (M) ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (SD) และการทดสอบค่าทีแบบไม่เป็นอิสระต่อกัน (t-test dependent)

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า

1) ความสามารถด้านการอ่านจับใจความของความนักเรียนหลังการจัดการเรียนรู้ (M=14.82, SD=2.42) สูงกว่าก่อนการจัดการเรียนรู้ (M=9.36, SD=3.94) อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

2) ความผูกพันในการอ่านของความนักเรียนหลังการจัดการเรียนรู้ (M=37.64, SD=3.82) สูงกว่าก่อนการจัดการเรียนรู้ (M=28.55, SD=3.01) อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

3) ผลการศึกษาความพึงพอใจของนักเรียนที่มีต่อการจัดการเรียนรู้ ในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับเห็นด้วยมาก (M=2.85, SD=0.08)
