dc.description.abstractShadow play art includes multiple art forms: the shape and costume of shadow figures are influenced by the shape of traditional opera figures, decorative patterns absorb the characteristics of folk paper-cuts, scenes, hair, eyebrows and other details are drawn from the style of folk painting, and the complete scene of shadow play uses the scatter perspective in the characteristics of folk painting. In addition to plastic arts, it also involves opera performance, singing, folk music and other artistic fields. Shadow play culture has been spreading for about two thousand years. Shadow play in different periods and regions is a miniature of people's lifestyle, reflecting a strong and real national aesthetic consciousness, and has important reference value in contemporary times. This study tries to inherit and develop in the field of art design without letting it die out. The purpose of this study is to develop the shape of shadow play art from the spatial structure into contemporary product design. This study has three main objectives :(1) to investigate the historical evolution of shadow play art; (2) Experiments on the structure, light and shadow of contemporary chair design through these artistic shapes and patterns; (3) To design of contemporary art chairs is based on the pattern and space structure of shadow puppets in western China.      It is believed that the contemporary transformation structure provides more value for the research process. The transformation method of traditional shadow play aesthetics is applied to the design process. The research results are not only ordinary products, but contemporary art design works full of cultural value.en
