ภาพสะท้อนสังคมในงานจิตรกรรมวัดใหม่เทพนิมิตร

Abstract

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะศึกษาถึงลักษณะของสังคมในงานจิตรกรรมไทย เพื่อทำความเข้าใจถึงเรื่องราวสภาพสังคมชนชั้นสูงและสามัญชนที่สอดแทรกอยู่ในงานจิตรกรรม รวมถึงการลักษณะของชาวต่างชาติที่เข้ามาติดต่อกับประเทศ โดยศึกษาจากงานจิตรกรรมฝาผนังวัดใหม่เทพนิมิตรซึ่งกำหนดอายุของงานจิตรกรรมอยู่ในช่วงกรุงศรีอยุธยาตอนปลายถึงกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น การศึกษานี้จึงมุ่งเน้นที่จะค้นคว้าเรื่องเกี่ยวกับสภาพสังคมในสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยาตอนปลายถึงกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ผ่านงานจิตรกรรมฝาผนัง

ผลการศึกษาวิจัยสรุปได้ว่าสภาพสังคมในงานจิตรกรรมวัดใหม่เทพนิมิตร แสดงถึงธรรมเนียมของราชสำนัก ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเครื่องแต่งกายโขนละครกับการแต่งกายของบุคคลในงานจิตรกรรม นอกจากนั้นยังได้สอดแทรกวิถีชีวิตของสามัญชนและเชื้อชาติที่ปรากฏอยู่ในงานจิตรกรรม อันเป็นการสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงสภาพสังคมโดยรวมในช่วงร่วมสมัยของงานจิตรกรรม

This research is to fulfill the knowledge on the social on mural paintings for understanding the noblemen and commoners’ story on the Thai mural paintings. The research also shows the ways that foreign countries contacted Thailand by studying through the mural paintings of Wat Mai Tep Nimitr which were dated between the periods of Late Ayutthaya and Early Rattanakosin. The study is focused on the social between the periods of Late Ayutthaya and Early Rattanakosin through the mural paintings.

The result of the study shows some aspects of social on the Thai mural paintings of Wat Mai Thep Nimitr which is related to the court tradition and the similarity between the Khon costumes and commoner’s costumes. Moreover, it shows the way of living and race through the Thai mural paintings which were expressed overall social aspect in the period that the mural paintings were created.
