Abstract

เครื่องพิมพ์ดีดเป็นเครื่องใช้สำนักงานที่มีความนิยมเป็นอย่างมากในอดีต เพราะทำให้การบันทึกข้อมูลมีความเป็นระเบียบและสะดวกรวดเร็วกว่าการเขียนบันทึกด้วยมือ ในอดีตครอบครัวของข้าพเจ้าประกอบอาชีพเปิดโรงเรียนสอนพิมพ์ดีดไทย-อังกฤษ และรับพิมพ์งานทั่วไป ชื่อว่าโรงเรียนอภิชาตพิมพ์ดีด ข้าพเจ้าเติบโตมาในสภาวะครอบครัวที่คุณพ่อกับคุณแม่ต้องทำงานหนักเพื่อเลี้ยงดูลูกๆ ให้สุขสบาย ด้วยสภาพการเงินของทางบ้านไม่ค่อยดีนัก คุณพ่อจึงต้องแยกไปทำงานขุดน้ำมันที่ประเทศซาอุดิอาระเบีย เมื่อเก็บเงินได้ในแต่ละเดือนจะส่งเงินกลับมาให้คุณแม่เพื่อซื้อเครื่องพิมพ์ดีดเพิ่ม จะได้เพียงพอต่อลูกค้าที่มาใช้บริการพิมพ์ดีด คุณแม่ของข้าพเจ้าทำงานหนักมาก บางวันไม่ได้หลับไม่ได้นอนนั่งพิมพ์งานข้ามวันข้ามคืนเพื่อหาเงินให้ลูกๆ ข้าพเจ้าและพี่น้องเป็นเด็กตัวยังเล็กและยังไม่มีความคิดอะไร อยากได้สิ่งของมากมาย จึงทำให้คุณพ่อกับคุณแม่ต้องทำงานหนักมากขึ้น เมื่อข้าพเจ้าเติบโตขึ้นมาเริ่มมีความคิดจึงได้ย้อนกลับไปมองอดีต ทำให้ได้เห็นถึงความรักที่คุณพ่อกับคุณแม่ทำให้ครอบครัว ข้าพเจ้าจึงมีความประทับใจและซาบซึ้งถึงความรักของคุณพ่อกับคุณแม่ที่มีให้ข้าพเจ้า จึงต้องการนำเสนอเรื่องราวความรักของครอบครัวผ่านความคิดที่ลึกซึ้งของข้าพเจ้าโดยเปรียบเปรยความรักของคุณพ่อกับคุณแม่ผ่านธรรมชาติของภาษาด้วยแนวความคิดที่ว่า ข้าพเจ้าเปรียบเสมือนพยัญชนะ ที่เกิดมายังไม่สามารถสะกดเป็นถ้อยคำที่มีความหมายได้ คุณพ่อกับคุณแม่เปรียบเสมือนสระและวรรณยุกต์ที่คอยเติมเต็มให้ชีวิตของพยัญชนะอย่างข้าพเจ้ามีความหมาย โดยการเติมเต็มความรักผ่านคำสั่งสอนของคุณพ่อกับคุณแม่ ที่คอยกระตุ้นให้มีจิตสำนึกและมีความคิดไปในทางที่ดี แสดงความรักโดยใช้รูปทรงของจดหมายที่มีขนาดเล็กและใหญ่ ความละเอียดของผลงานสื่อถึงความรักความใส่ใจที่คุณพ่อกับคุณแม่มอบให้ข้าพเจ้า ผลงานสามารถมองได้ทั้งระยะไกลและใกล้ เมื่อมองระยะไกลจะเห็นเป็นรูปข้าพเจ้า เมื่อมองระยะใกล้จะเห็นเป็นรูปทรงของจดหมายเล็กๆ หลากหลายขนาด มีข้อความจากเครื่องพิมพ์ดีดที่แสดงถึงความรักและคำสั่งสอนมากมายประกอบหลอมรวมเป็นรูปข้าพเจ้า ผลงานทั้งหมดเป็นการบันทึกความทรงจำ ความรักผ่านกระบวนการทางด้านศิลปะ จึงเรียกผลงานชุดนี้ว่าเป็นภาพบันทึกจากเครื่องพิมพ์ดีด In the past typewriters were very popular because they could put storing documents in order and they were more convenient and faster than hand writing. In the past my family earned our living by opening a Thai and English typewriting school called Apichart Typewriting School for training Thai and English typing and providing general typing services. I was brought up under the family condition that my parents worked very hard in order to support their offspring sufficiently. Due to the poor economic status, my father went to work as an oil worker in Saudi Arabia. On his monthly earning, he sent his money back to my mother so that she would spend it on purchasing more typewriters for the school to meet the demand of the clients who needed the typing services. My mother worked so hard. Sometimes, she typed all day and stayed up all night to earn money for the children. Being childish and naive, we desired to have a lot of things which forced our parents to work even harder. On growing up with thoughtfulness, I looked back to the past and I perceived the parents’ love for the family. Being impressed and appreciated with the love my parents had for me, I’d like to present an account of family love through my profound thoughts by analogy between my parents’ love and the nature of language: I am like consonants born unable to spell into any meaningful word, and my parents are like vowels and intonations to fulfill me meaningfully through their teaching with wholehearted love to raise my awareness and good thoughts. The love is expressed by using shapes of small and large letters. The sophistication of the work signifies the love and care of my parents for me. The work can be viewed both in short and long distances. Viewed in a short distance, it is my picture, but when viewed in a long distance, it is a collection of many different little letters in various sizes. There are statements typed with typewriters that express love and teachings compounded and molded into my picture. The whole work is the record of reminiscence and love through the procedure of arts and thereby naming the work as, Memory from Typewrite
