Development of Digital Repository for Teachers of St. Francis Xavier Convent School, Bangkok

Abstract

The objectives of this research were : 1) to develop the Digital Repository for Teachers of St. Francis Xavier Convent, and; 2) to evaluate user satisfactions of the Digital Repository for Teachers of St. Francis Xavier Convent. The system was a good source for collection, storage, and dissemination of academic work of teachers. The research sample comprised of 39 teachers from 2 groups which was determined through purposive sampling method. The first group was the computer teacher and the chief of policy and planning for system administrators, and the second group was 37 teachers in the administrator level of St. Francis Xavier Convent. The research tools consisted of 1) the development of Digital Repository for Teachers of St. Francis Xavier Convent. The System Development Life Circle (SDLC) was referred for system development. The researcher employed Drupal, PHP as a programming language and MySQL as database management system. 2) The evaluation user satisfactions of the Digital Repository employed 5 levels of Likert scale. The statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean, and standard deviation.

The result of the system development, the users were divided into 2 groups : administrators and users. The administrators installed, controlled, saved, edited, deleted, authenticated documents before publishing and set user permissions. The users searched, retrieved and downloaded full text.

The administrator satisfaction of the Digital Repository for Teachers of St. Francis Xavier Convent was “highly satisfied”, the average score equaled to 4.21 with standard deviation at 0.56. For the users, the level of satisfaction was “highest satisfied”, the average score equaled to 4.61 with standard deviation at 0.50.

งานวิจัยนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) พัฒนาระบบคลังสารสนเทศดิจิทัลสำหรับครูโรงเรียนเซนต์ฟรังซีสซาเวียร์คอนแวนต์ 2) ประเมินความพึงพอใจในการใช้คลังสารสนเทศดิจิทัลสำหรับครูโรงเรียนเซนต์ฟรังซีสซาเวียร์คอนแวนต์ โดยระบบคลังสารสนเทศดิจิทัลมีความสามารถในการจัดเก็บ รวบรวม และเผยแพร่ผลงานทางวิชาการที่จัดทำโดยครูโรงเรียนเซนต์ฟรังซีสซาเวียร์คอนแวนต์ กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยจำนวน 39 คน ได้มาจากการคัดเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเจาะจง แบ่งเป็น 2 กลุ่ม คือ กลุ่มผู้ดูแลระบบ ได้แก่ ครูคอมพิวเตอร์ และหัวหน้างานนโยบายและแผน จำนวน 2 คน และกลุ่มผู้ใช้งานระบบ ได้แก่ ผู้ช่วยผู้อำนวยการ หัวหน้ากลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้ และหัวหน้างานตามโครงสร้างการบริหารงานของฝ่ายต่าง ๆ จำนวน 37 คน เครื่องมือสำหรับการวิจัย ประกอบด้วย 1) การพัฒนาระบบคลังสารสนเทศดิจิทัล ซึ่งผู้วิจัยได้ดำเนินการตามขั้นตอนของวงจรการพัฒนาระบบ (System Development Life Circle : SDLC) โดยใช้โปรแกรม Drupal ในการพัฒนาระบบ โปรแกรมภาษา PHP สำหรับใช้ในการเขียนโปรแกรมบนเว็บไซต์ และโปรแกรม MySQL สำหรับจัดการฐานข้อมูลระบบ 2) แบบประเมินความพึงพอใจต่อการใช้ระบบคลังสารสนเทศดิจิทัล เป็นแบบสอบถามแบบประมาณค่า 5 ระดับ สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน

จากผลการพัฒนาระบบคลังสารสนเทศดิจิทัลสำหรับครูโรงเรียนเซนต์ฟรังซีสซาเวียร์คอนแวนต์ แบ่งผู้ใช้ระบบเป็น 2 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ กลุ่มผู้ดูแลระบบ และกลุ่มผู้ใช้งานระบบ อันได้แก่ ครูโรงเรียนเซนต์ฟรังซีสซาเวียร์คอนแวนต์ สำหรับผู้ดูแลระบบ จะสามารถติดตั้ง ดูแล ควบคุมการทำงานในภาพรวม สามารถบันทึก แก้ไข เพิ่ม ลบ และตรวจสอบความถูกต้องก่อนการเผยแพร่ รวมทั้งกำหนดสิทธิ์การเข้าถึงเอกสารของผู้ใช้งานระบบได้ ส่วนผู้ใช้งานระบบ สามารถค้นคืนสารสนเทศ และดาวน์โหลดเอกสารฉบับเต็มได้ตามสิทธิ์

ผลการประเมินความพึงพอใจต่อการใช้ระบบคลังสารสนเทศดิจิทัล พบว่า ภาพรวมของผู้ดูแลระบบ มีระดับความพึงพอใจมาก มีค่าเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 4.21 และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานเท่ากับ 0.56 สำหรับผู้ใช้งานระบบ พบว่า มีระดับความพึงพอใจมากที่สุด โดยมีค่าเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 4.61 และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานเท่ากับ 0.50
