Muslim Way in Thai Contemporary Art

Abstract

Over the past decade, the Muslim way has involved the Thai contemporary arts as a series of the apparent and rapidly-grown achievements. The aim of this study is to examine the background and motivation in creating the artists by the forms of the presentation and the content types of the artworks. In this study, ten important players were selected with a number of 50 apparent Thai contemporary artworks. The results showed as follows.

1. Muslim way in Thai contemporary arts was remarkably apparent in the period of the establishment of the Faculty of Fine Arts, the Prince of Songkla University Pattani Campus. 2. the creative of artworks were inspired by the "inner motives" 3. The remarkable Thai contemporary arts in the Muslim way include various forms of the presentation; the presentation through the realism, semi-abstract, and abstract. 4. the works of the artists are represented through the 2 ways, which are the personal viewpoint of the artist and through social point of view. 5. According to the researcher, the story content could be divided into four groups basically, 1) Religious philosophy 2) Gender 3) The South Thailand Insurgency 4) Way of life. According to the research, it is found that the contents that the artists intend to represent are a combination of two groups of content, namely 1) Integration between religious philosophy and gender 2) Integration between gender and The South Thailand Insurgency 3) Integration between The South Thailand Insurgency and way of life 4) Integration between way of life and religious philosophy.

ในช่วงระยะเวลา 10 ปีที่ผ่านมาวิถีมุสลิมได้เข้ามามีส่วนร่วมในวงการศิลปะร่วมสมัยไทย เป็นชุดความสำเร็จที่เกิดขึ้นและเติบโตอย่างรวดเร็ว การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความเป็นมา แรงจูงใจในการสร้างสรรค์ของศิลปิน จำแนกรูปแบบในการนำเสนอ และจำแนกประเภทของเนื้อหา โดยผู้วิจัยได้คัดเลือกศิลปิน จำนวน 10 ท่าน และวิเคราะห์วิถีมุสลิมที่ปรากฏศิลปะร่วมสมัยไทย จำนวน 50 ผลงาน ซึ่งผลการวิจัยพบว่า

1. วิถีมุสลิมในศิลปะร่วมสมัยไทย ปรากฏเด่นชัดเมื่อมีการก่อตั้งคณะศิลปกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ วิทยาเขตปัตตานี

2. ผลงานศิลปะร่วมสมัยไทยที่ปรากฏวิถีมุสลิม ถูกสร้างสรรค์โดยมีที่มาจาก “แรงจูงใจภายใน”

3. ผลงานศิลปะร่วมสมัยไทยที่ปรากฏวิถีมุสลิม มีรูปแบบในการนำเสนอที่หลากหลาย ทั้งการนำเสนอผ่านรูปแบบเหมือนจริง รูปแบบกึ่งนามธรรม และรูปแบบนามธรรม

4. ผลงานศิลปะร่วมสมัยไทยที่ปรากฏวิถีมุสลิม ได้ถูกนำเสนอผ่านทั้งมุมมองส่วนบุคคลและมุมมองจากสังคม

5. ผู้วิจัยได้คาดการณ์เนื้อหาเรื่องราวที่ปรากฏผลงานศิลปะวิถีมุสลิมในศิลปะร่วมสมัยไทยเบื้องต้นออกเป็น 4 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ 1. ปรัชญาศาสนา 2. เพศสถานะ 3. เหตุการณ์ความไม่สงบในสามจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ 4. วิถีชีวิต จากการศึกษาพบว่าเนื้อหาแท้จริงที่ศิลปินต้องการนำเสนอนั้นล้วนผสมผสาน ไม่สามารถแบ่งออกเป็นกลุ่มใดกลุ่มหนึ่งได้ชัดเจน โดยมากมักเป็นการผสานเนื้อหา 2 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ 1. การผสานระหว่างปรัชญาศาสนาและเพศสถานะ 2. การผสานระหว่างเพศสถานะและเหตุการณ์ความไม่สงบในพื้นที่สามจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ 3. การผสานระหว่างเหตุการณ์ความไม่สงบในพื้นที่สามจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้และวิถีชีวิต 4. การผสานระหว่างวิถีชีวิตและปรัชญาศาสนา
