Aesthetics in Inson Wongsam's abstract sculptures

Abstract

The purpose of this research was aimed to examine and explore the concepts and aesthetics in the abstract sculpture of Inson Wongsam to promote knowledge and the understanding of the value of aesthetics exhibited in the sculptural works.

In the present study, the investigation and analysis were conducted in the respect to the concepts and patterns of the sculptural works left in the photos and the real works, including the biography of Inson Wongsam. The literature and documentary review was performed, including journals, birth certificate, and articles relating to the artist, Inson Wongsam, as well as interviews with artists and related persons. The knowledge and the understanding acquired are expected to promote the abstract sculpture creativity of the artists.

The results found that artistic works of Inson Wongsam during the year 1955 – 1999 included the creativity relating to journeys to various destinations and his dwelling settlement, which these places he visited substantially contribute to his inspiring and developing the artistic creativity from time to time; namely; not only indicating his performance on the artistic creativity, but also reflecting the aesthetics in the abstract sculpture in the simplistic way as resulted from the artist's simple living.

งานวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาและค้นหารูปแบบ แนวคิด และความงามในผลงานประติมากรรมนามธรรมของอินสนธิ์ วงศ์สาม เพื่อสร้างความรู้ ความเข้าใจในคุณค่าของสุนทรียภาพที่ปรากฏในผลงาน

การงานวิจัยครั้งนี้ ใช้วิธีศึกษาและวิเคราะห์แนวคิด รูปแบบ จากผลงานที่เหลือเพียงภาพถ่าย และผลงานจริง รวมถึงศึกษาชีวประวัติของอินสนธิ์ วงศ์สาม โดยศึกษาจากเอกสาร หนังสือ สูจิบัตร และบทความเกี่ยวกับศิลปินผู้นี้ นอกจากนี้ยังมีการศึกษาข้อมูลจากการสัมภาษณ์ศิลปิน และบุคคลที่เกี่ยวข้อง อันนำมาสู่ความรู้ความเข้าใจต่อการพัฒนาการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานประติมากรรมนามธรรมของศิลปิน

จากการศึกษาพบว่า ผลงานของอินสนธิ์ วงศ์สามตั้งแต่ช่วงปี พ.ศ. 2498 – 2542 มีพัฒนาการในการสร้างสรรค์ที่มักจะเกี่ยวข้องกับการเดินทางท่องเที่ยวไปตามสถานที่ต่างๆ และการตั้งถิ่นฐานที่พักอาศัยของเขา สถานที่เหล่านี้ล้วนมีส่วนสำคัญในการสร้างแรงบันดาลใจและพัฒนาแนวทางในการสร้างสรรค์ศิลปะแต่ละช่วงของอินสนธิ์อย่างชัดเจน ซึ่งนอกจากจะแสดงให้เห็นถึงศักยภาพในการสร้างสรรค์งานศิลปะของตัวศิลปินเองแล้ว ยังสะท้อนให้เห็นความงดงามในผลงานประติมากรรมนามธรรมที่เรียบง่ายอันมาจากวิถีชีวิตสมถะของศิลปิน
