The Development of Mathematics Projects Instructional Procedure for Upper Secondary Students Talented in Mathematics at Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Phetchaburi

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to develop mathematics projects instructional procedure for upper secondary students talented in mathematics at Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Phetchaburi and study its effectiveness. The researcher used the research methodology of research and development which compose of the studying of basic information and requirements of teachers, synthesising the documents and specialists’opinion of developing mathematics projects instructional procedure, monitoring the efficiency of instructional procedure by three specialists and focus group with six teachers or projects advisers, next evaluating and improving the mathematics projects instructional procedure. The reasearch instruments were an evaluation form of mathematics projects instructional procedure for upper secondary students talented in mathematics at Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Phetchaburi and the form of focus group. The data were analyzed by mean and standard deviation.

The researcher developed a mathematics projects instructional procedure as a learning activity for supporting school curriculum. We designed activities by having students as the focal point and promoting learning by self-experience and collaborative learning. The mathematics projects instructional procedure includes: material for students and a manual for teacher. The important details were as follows : 1) background and an importance of mathematics projects instructional procedure 2) basic knowledge about mathematics projects 3) mathematics projects instructional procedure for upper secondary students talented in mathematics at Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Phetchaburi and the role of teachers or projects advisers 4) instruction for mathematics projects evaluation 5) activities which leading students to mathematics projects and 6) appendix; example of mathematics projects.

The researcher found that the development of mathematics projects instructional procedure for upper secondary students talented in mathematics at Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Phetchaburi achievement is effective. According to the comments by specialists the development of mathematics projects instructional procedure is consistent and suitable at the highest level. In addition, teachers or projects advisers comments it’s suitable for students talented in mathematics at Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Phetchaburi.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีความมุ่งหมายเพื่อพัฒนา และศึกษาประสิทธิภาพของวิธีการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โครงงานคณิตศาสตร์สำหรับนักเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายที่มีความสามารถพิเศษด้านคณิตศาสตร์ โรงเรียนจุฬาภรณราชวิทยาลัย เพชรบุรี (โรงเรียนวิทยาศาสตร์ภูมิภาค ) ผู้วิจัยใช้รูปแบบการวิจัยและพัฒนา โดยมีวิธีการดำเนินงาน 4 ขั้นตอน ดังนี้ ขั้นตอนที่ 1 การศึกษาข้อมูลพื้นฐานและความต้องการของครูผู้สอนโครงงานคณิตศาสตร์ ขั้นตอนที่ 2 การพัฒนาวิธีการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โครงงานคณิตศาสตร์โดยการสังเคราะห์เอกสารและผู้เชี่ยวชาญ ขั้นตอนที่ 3 การนำวิธีการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โครงงานคณิตศาสตร์ไปตรวจสอบประสิทธิภาพโดยผู้เชี่ยวชาญ จำนวน 3 ท่าน และวิธีการสนทนากลุ่มของครูผู้สอนหรือครูที่ปรึกษาโครงงานคณิตศาสตร์ จำนวน 6 ท่าน และขั้นตอนที่ 4 การประเมินผลและปรับปรุงวิธีการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โครงงานคณิตศาสตร์ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบประเมินโครงร่างวิธีการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โครงงานคณิตศาสตร์ฯ และแบบบันทึกการสนทนากลุ่ม สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ยเลขคณิต และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ผู้วิจัยพัฒนาวิธีการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โครงงานคณิตศาสตร์ฯให้เป็นกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ที่เสริมหลักสูตรของโรงเรียนที่เน้นผู้เรียนเป็นสำคัญ ส่งเสริมให้นักเรียนเกิดการเรียนรู้ด้วยตนเองจากการปฏิบัติจริงและเกิดการเรียนรู้ร่วมกันจากการทำงานกลุ่ม ผลการพัฒนาประกอบด้วย เอกสารประกอบการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้และเอกสารคู่มือครู โดยมีรายละเอียดสำคัญ 6 ส่วน ได้แก่ 1) ความเป็นมาและความสำคัญของการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โครงงานคณิตศาสตร์ 2) ความรู้พื้นฐานเกี่ยวกับโครงงานคณิตศาสตร์ 3) การจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โครงงานคณิตศาสตร์สำหรับนักเรียนที่มีความสามารถพิเศษด้านคณิตศาสตร์ระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย โรงเรียนจุฬาภรณราชวิทยาลัย เพชรบุรี และบทบาทของครูผู้สอนหรือครูที่ปรึกษาโครงงาน 4) การประเมินผลการจัดกิจกรรมโครงงานคณิตศาสตร์ 5) กิจกรรมส่งเสริมการคิดเพื่อนำไปสู่โครงงานคณิตศาสตร์ และ 6) ภาคผนวกตัวอย่างโครงงานคณิตศาสตร์

ผลการตรวจสอบประสิทธิภาพพบว่าวิธีการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โครงงานคณิตศาสตร์ฯที่พัฒนาขึ้นมีประสิทธิภาพตามความคิดเห็นของผู้เชี่ยวชาญ โดยมีความสอดคล้องและมีความเหมาะสมอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด และครูผู้สอนหรือครูที่ปรึกษาโครงงานคณิตศาสตร์ มีความคิดเห็นว่าวิธีการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โครงงานคณิตศาสตร์ฯที่พัฒนาขึ้นมีประสิทธิภาพเหมาะสมในการนำไปใช้จัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โครงงานสำหรับนักเรียนที่มีความสามารถพิเศษด้านคณิตศาสตร์ของโรงเรียนจุฬาภรณราชวิทยาลัย เพชรบุรี
