Rhythm Silk at PakThongChai District: Music Composition Concept From Silk

Abstract

Rhythm Silk At Pakthongchai District: Music Composition from Silk. A string ensemble composition that is inspired by traditional 'Paktongchai silk’ performing along with sound design technic and video, expressing the life of Paktongchai's local whom are behind those beautiful silks. This project started from a question that the composer had asked myself whether how “my composing skill could benefit my local community?” The music element in this piece come from the composer’s fieldwork recording such as the sound of loom in progress and voices from interviewing local Paktongchai. The composer changed the character of the sounds to construct a piece for string and wind instruments. The composer also created sine-waves to accompany the composition

จังหวะ ผ้าไหมเมืองปักธงชัย: การประพันธ์เพลงโดยใช้แนวคิดจากผ้าไหม เป็นบทประพันธ์ที่พยายามนำงานหัตถกรรมภายในท้องถิ่นของผู้ประพันธ์นั้นคือผ้าไหม มาเป็นองค์ประกอบในการประพันธ์บทเพลงสำหรับวงเครื่องสายผสมผสานกับ เครื่องดนตรีอีสาน ซาวด์ดีไซน์ และภาพเคลื่อนไหว เพื่อถ่ายทอดความรู้สึกและชีวิตของคนทอผ้าผู้อยู่เบื้องหลังการสร้างสรรค์งานด้านผ้าไหม บทประพันธ์นี้เริ่มต้นจากการตั้งคำถามให้กับตัวผู้ประพันธ์เองว่า “เราจะใช้ความสามารถด้านการประพันธ์ดนตรีในการช่วยเหลือสิ่งใดในชุมชนได้บ้าง?” ใช้วัตถุดิบทางดนตรีที่ผู้ประพันธ์ได้ลงพื้นที่เพื่อทำการบันทึกเสียงอุปกรณ์ที่ใช้ในกระบวนการทอผ้า เช่น ไนปั่นด้าย กี่ทอผ้า รวมไปถึงเสียงจากบทสัมภาษณ์มาดัดแปลง เปลี่ยนรูปลักษณะเสียง แล้วจึงนำมาออกแบบให้สอดรับกับเครื่องดนตรี อีกทั้งผู้ประพันธ์ยังนำเสียงไซด์-เวฟ (Sine-Wave) สร้างเป็นลวดลายประกอบไปพร้อมกับภาพเคลื่อนไหว โดยนำมาเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการนำเสนอผลงาน
