Unstable Dream in The Online World

Abstract

The thesis “Unstable Dream in The Online World” is a work created from pictures from the social media, an Internet application based on the contemporary technology, that could be accessed through the phone and computer. Currently, modernity and technology have grown hand-in-hand, and thus the people have to adapt and be conscious about such modernity. One notable thing is the use of smartphones like the 33th organ. The smartphone brings much convenience in living, traveling, commuting, keeping up with news, all of which can be called part of “updating”, which is widely-talked on the online community. The speed of media could be a double-edged sword if one is not careful. Some news might be inadvertently or deliberately twisted by the speed of technology, along with rapidly-changing knowledge and accuracy every day.

I used talks-of-the-social media, along with my own imagination. They are stories that are widely-shared and everyone becomes interested in them. In each day, stories shared and mentioned would change according to the situation, so the older stories would eventually become a fading memory. No matter how big the currently story, or how many millions that share it, it would eventually become a memory. This led to me taking what I have seen and interested in, as one person that use social media myself and see all the movement, and turning them into a story with my own imagination to show that everyone can talk and comment about online stories according to their own views, because the online media is a public space, which this thesis has no intention to “correct” the comment or social story. Instead, this thesis is creation of pop art related with people and the society that are under the attention spotlight or “hot” topic at the time, to reflect the current story through silk screen and mixed media to build dimension, show contrasting and diverse textures, and stimulate imagination.

วิทยานิพนธ์หัวข้อ “ฟุ้งฝัน แปรผันออนไลน์” เป็นการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานจากภาพเนื้อหาเรื่องราวที่ได้รับจากสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ เป็นแอปพลิเคชันบนเครือข่ายอินเทอร์เน็ตซึ่งสร้างบนพื้นฐานการทำงานของเทคโนโลยีร่วมสมัย และสามารถเข้าถึงได้ทั้งสื่อคอมพิวเตอร์และโทรศัพท์มือถือ โดยปัจจุบันความทันสมัยกับเทคโนโลยีได้พัฒนาควบคู่กันไป คนในสังคมต้องปรับตัวและรู้เท่าทันความล้ำสมัย และสิ่งที่เห็นได้ชัดเจนคือ การใช้โทรศัพท์มือถือในทุกวันนี้ เปรียบเสมือนอวัยวะชิ้นที่ 33 ของมนุษย์ ซึ่งถือว่าเป็นสิ่งที่อำนวยความสะดวกต่อผู้คนมากยิ่งขึ้นในการดำรงชีวิต การเดินทาง การท่องเที่ยว การรับรู้ข่าวสารในสังคม ซึ่งการเป็นพฤติกรรมประจำวันเพื่อทำให้ทันสมัยหรือที่เรียกกันว่าอัพเดท อันเป็นข้อมูลที่ถูกพูดถึงในสังคมออนไลน์มาก ความรวดเร็วของสื่อนี้มีทั้งประโยชน์และโทษถ้าเสพอย่าไร้สติ บางข่าวสารได้รับการเปลี่ยนแปลงบิดเบือนไป ทั้งที่ตั้งใจและไม่ตั้งใจ เนื่องจากความรวดเร็วของเทคโนโลยีนั้น แฝงความรู้ ความถูกต้องที่มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงไปในทุก ๆ วัน

ข้าพเจ้าได้นำประเด็นสาระเรื่องราวที่ถูกพูดถึงเป็นจำนวนมากในสื่อดังกล่าว มาสร้างสรรค์ผ่านจินตนาการส่วนตัว ซึ่งเป็นเรื่องราวที่พูดถึงในโลกออนไลน์ที่ถูกแชร์ต่อๆกันจนกลายเป็นเรื่องที่ผู้คนให้ความสนใจ ซึ่งในแต่ละวันนั้น เรื่องราวที่ถูกพูดถึงและพูดส่งต่อกัน จะเปลี่ยนไปตามสถานการณ์ ในปัจจุบันในสื่อออนไลน์ ทำให้เรื่องราวที่ผ่านมานั้นกลายเป็นแค่ความทรงจำและถูกลบเลือนไป ต่อให้เรื่องราวในปัจจุบันจะใหญ่โตสักแค่ไหน คนแชร์เป็นร้อยเป็นล้าน สุดท้ายเมื่อเวลาผ่านไปก็จะกลายเป็นแค่ความทรงจำจึงทำให้ผลงานของข้าพเจ้านั้นนำสิ่งที่พบเห็นและสนใจ จากที่ข้าพเจ้าเป็นส่วนหนึ่งที่ใช้ สื่อสังคมออนไลน์ในการดำรงชีวิตทำให้เห็นการเคลื่อนไหวอยู่เสมอ ข้าพจึงนำสิ่งเหล่านี้มาปรับเปลี่ยนเป็นเรื่องราวในจิตรนาการของตัวเองในบางส่วนเพื่อแสดงให้เห็นว่า เรื่องราวที่พูดถึงผ่านสื่อออนไลน์นั้น ทุกคนสามารถแสดงออกและแสดงความคิดเห็นได้ ในแต่ละมุมมองของแต่ละคน เพราะสื่อออนไลน์นั้นเป็นพื้นที่สาธารณะ ซึ่งวิทยานิพนธ์นี้ไม่มีเจตนาที่จะทำให้เกิดความคิดเห็นที่ถูกต้องหรือแก้ไขเรื่อวราวทางสังคมให้ถูกต้องแต่อย่างไร แต่เป็นการสร้างสรรค์ศิลปะเชิงประชานิยม (Pop Art) ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับผู้คนและสังคมในปัจจุบันที่กำลังได้รับความสนใจหรือวิพากษ์วิจารณ์ในขณะนั้น เพื่อสะท้อนเรื่องราวที่ปรากฏในปัจจุบัน ผ่านกระบวนการภาพพิมพ์ตะแกรงไหม (Silk screen) และสื่อผสม ในการก่อรูปสร้างมิติของพื้นภาพ เพื่อในเห็นพื้นผิวที่แตกต่างและความหลากหลายในเกิดความสมบูรณ์และเกิดจินตนาการในการมองเห็น
