Abstract:   This study explores Brian Blade's musical techniques and ideas in "I Mean You", "Farewell Bluebird" and "Jazz Crimes." It studies how he focuses on note density, phrase direction and the dynamics of each piece. Furthermore, this study summarizes Brian Blade's techniques, covering his grip, hitting style, snare placement and typical drumming patterns that define his drumming style.
