The development of poetry writing ability and learning engagement of prathomsuksa 6 students by applying the close reading and writing process of Timmermans and Johnson

Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) to study the development of poetry writing abilty through the application Timmermans and Johnson’s Close reading and Writing process, 2) to study’s poetry writing ability after applying Timmermans and Johnson’s Close reading and Writing process, and 3) to compare student’s learning engagement before and after applying Timmermans and Johnson’s Close reading and Writing process. The purposive sampling group consists of 14 students in Prathomsuksa 6, semester 2 in academic year 2023 at Bandonyao School. The tools used consisted of 1) the poetry writing ability assessment form and 2) the learning poetry writing ability test 3) the leaning engagement questionnaire. The development of poetrywriting was analyzed by content analysis method, analyzed data form the poetry writing ability assessment form using mean (M), standard deviation (SD) and One sample t-test, analyzed data form the poetry writing ability test by using mean (M), standard deviation (SD) and t-test dependent.

The results found that: 1. Students developed their poetry writing ability in four areas: prosody, thoughts and content, language use, and language art. 2. Students’ poetry writing ability was higher than the set criteria; 80 percent, at the.05 level of significance. (M = 84.39, SD = 7.91) and 3. Students’ learning engagement after applying Timmermans and Johnson's close reading and writing process (M = 4.29, SD = 0.15) was higher significantly than before (M = 2.14, SD = 0.21) at the .05 level.

การวิจัยนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาพัฒนาการของความสามารถในการแต่งบทร้อยกรองโดยประยุกต์ใช้กระบวนการอ่านละเอียดและเขียนร้อยกรองของทิมเมอร์แมนและจอห์นสัน 2) ศึกษาความสามารถในการแต่งบทร้อยกรองหลังได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยประยุกต์ใช้กระบวนการอ่านละเอียดและเขียนร้อยกรองของทิมเมอร์แมนและจอห์นสันกับเกณฑ์ที่กำหนด 3) ศึกษาความยึดมั่นผูกพันในการเรียนก่อนและหลังการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยประยุกต์ใช้กระบวนการอ่านละเอียดและเขียนร้อยกรองของทิมเมอร์แมนและจอห์นสัน กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 โรงเรียนบ้านดอนยาว จำนวน 14 คน ซึ่งกำลังศึกษาในภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2566 ได้มาโดยวิธีการสุ่มอย่างง่าย (Simple Random Sampling) เครื่องมือวิจัย ได้แก่ 1) แบบประเมินความสามารถในการแต่งบทร้อยกรอง 2) แบบวัดความสามารถในการแต่งบทร้อยกรอง 3) แบบสอบถามความยึดมั่นผูกพันในการเรียน โดยวิเคราะห์พัฒนาการในการแต่งบทร้อยกรองโดยใช้การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพ วิเคราะห์คะแนนแบบวัดความสามารถในการแต่งบทร้อยกรองหลังการทดลองโดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ยเลขคณิต (M) ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (SD) และ t-test dependent วิเคราะห์คะแนนของแบบสอบถามความยึดมั่นผูกพันในการเรียนโดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ยเลขคณิต (M) และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (SD) และ t-test dependent

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) นักเรียนมีพัฒนาการของความสามารถในการแต่งบทร้อยกรองครบทั้ง 4 ด้าน ได้แก่ ด้านฉันทลักษณ์ ด้านความคิดและเนื้อหา ด้านการใช้ภาษา และด้านวรรณศิลป์ 2) นักเรียนมีความสามารถในการแต่งบทร้อยกรองสูงกว่าเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 80 ที่ตั้งไว้อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 (M = 84.39, SD = 7.91) เเละ 3) นักเรียนมีความยึดมั่นผูกพันในการเรียนหลังการทดลอง (M = 4.29, SD = 0.15) สูงกว่าก่อนการทดลอง (M = 2.14, SD = 0.21) อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05
