Abstract: This study focuses on flower modeling to explore the innovative potential of transparent leather in contemporary decorative arts. It aims to achieve four transformational results: 1) redefine traditional leather as a material through its application in modern art forms; 2) Transition from two-dimensional pattern to three-dimensional artistic expression; 3) Capture the dynamic life cycle of flowers from germination to blooming as inspiration for design; 4) Integration of traditional and contemporary technologies. This study adopts the practice-led method, combining the experimental process with theoretical analysis. The unique characteristics of transparent leather, such as translucency, flexibility and adaptability, are explored through interdisciplinary techniques such as wood carving and fabric pleating. These experiments reveal its ability to interact with light and shadow dynamically, creating visual depth and emotional resonance. The results show that transparent leather has aesthetic and philosophical potential in expressing the theme of life, growth and transience. This study develops a new artistic language for leather decoration by reinterpreting the traditional shadow technique and combining it with modern methods. The research results are helpful to adopt a sustainable approach in material use and combine cultural heritage with modern design. This study provides a framework for interdisciplinary cooperation in the field of arts and crafts, and provides a new way for the revival of traditional crafts in the global art landscape.
