The Development of Essay Writing Ability of Mathayomsuksa 1 Students through Genre-Based Learning

Abstract

This research aims to 1) compare essay writing ability of Matthayomsuksa 1 students before and after studying through genre-based learning, and 2) study Matthayomsuksa 1 students’ opinion towards genre-based learning. The participants in this study consisted of 26 Matthayomsuksa 1/1 students at Nongpho Wittaya School, Photharam District, Ratchaburi, who were enrolled in the second semester of the 2024 academic year. The participants were selected using Cluster Sampling with classrooms used as the sampling units The study was conducted over a total of 10 class periods, including 8 learning periods, and 2 periods for pre-test and post-test assessments. The research instruments were 1) lesson plans, 2) essay writing ability test, and 3) student opinion questionaire on genre-based learning. The statistical methods used for data analysis were mean (M), standard deviation (SD), and dependent t-test.

The research found that

1) students’ essay writing ability after participating in genre-based learning was significantly higher than before, at the .05 level of statistical significance.

2) students’ opinions on genre-based learning were at the highest level of agreement.

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการเขียนเรียงความของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 ก่อนและหลังการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ตามแนวคิดอรรถฐาน และ 2) ศึกษาความคิดเห็นของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 ที่มีต่อการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ตามแนวคิดอรรถฐาน กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1/1 โรงเรียนหนองโพวิทยา อำเภอโพธาราม จังหวัดราชบุรี ที่กำลังศึกษาในภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2567 ด้วยวิธีการสุ่มแบบกลุ่ม (Cluster Sampling) โดยใช้ห้องเรียนเป็นหน่วยในการสุ่ม จำนวน 26 คน ดำเนินการทดลองโดยใช้เวลาการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ 8 คาบ ทดสอบก่อนและหลังเรียนอีก 2 คาบ รวม 10 คาบ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ 1) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ 2) แบบวัดความสามารถในการเขียนเรียงความ และ 3) แบบสอบถามความคิดเห็นของนักเรียนที่มีต่อการจัดการเรียนรู้ตามแนวคิดอรรถฐาน สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล คือ ค่าเฉลี่ยเลขคณิต (M) ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (SD) และการทดสอบค่าทีแบบไม่เป็นอิสระต่อกัน (t-test dependent)

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า

1. ความสามารถด้านการเขียนเรียงความของนักเรียนหลังการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ตามแนวคิดอรรถฐานสูงกว่าก่อนการจัดการเรียนรู้ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ ที่ระดับ .05

2. ความคิดเห็นของนักเรียนมีต่อการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ตามแนวคิดอรรถฐาน อยู่ในระดับเห็นด้วยมากที่สุด
