| Abstract: | The research for MFA, is a practice based research. The inspiration for this painting and installation art project is the researcher’s experience in Myanmar. So many things happened the researcher had experienced political exile, riot and unrest society and natural disaster such as flood and 7.7 Magnitude earthquake. All of these human tragedies become the driving force pushing the research to do many drawings and paintings. The style for artistic expression is abstract, like Arshile Gorky and Robert Motherwells, the nature of human suffering are expressed in form of abstract art.
For artistic influence, after a long sun way the researcher adopted both European artist such as Kazimir Malevich, Piet Mondrian , Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee and American artist such as Jackson Pollock, Barnet Newman and Mark Rothko to organize his colorful mixed media and acrylic artwork.
Imagination, memory as well as unique individual personal response to the event in the past, the researcher expressed his originality reflecting the sorrow, fear and anxiety into art form to colorful abstract painting showing how the story of Southeast Asia lives depicted. Under the professor’s consideration and criticism, sketches and small drawing drawn and used to support big painting, in tall and large 3D installation, sculpture project. - |
