UNVEILING THE UNSEEN: AN IMMERSIVE HISTORICAL EXPLORATION OF WAT PHRA RAM, AYUTTHAYA

Abstract

"UNVEILING THE UNSEEN: AN IMMERSIVE HISTORICAL EXPLORATION OF WAT PHRA RAM, AYUTTHAYA" aims to 1) Study the information of important historical contents of Wat Phra Ram that have been overlooked. 2) Analyze approaches to creating immersive experiences for accessing historical contents. 3) Design and develop a prototype for creating immersive experience for accessing historical contents. Wat Phra Ram is a temple with many interesting historical contents, but most tourists have been unaware of it, resulting in these contents being overlooked. We collected primary data through field studies at Wat Phra Ram and three national museums and in-depth information from historical experts and secondary data through a literature review, we identified 15 significant historical issues in total. As for the content presentation method, we studied relevant research and analyzed their suitability for application at Wat Phra Ram. The conclusion was that Augmented Reality (AR) was the most appropriate method. The prototype includes both physical and digital elements. It was tested for usability and evaluated by experts, subsequently revised based on their feedback, and later tested for effectiveness by tourists. The resulting prototype enables tourists to recognize and understand historical contents that no longer exist and those that remain but are no longer accessible.

"การเสริมสร้างความเป็นจริงที่ถูกมองข้ามไป: การสำรวจประวัติศาสตร์เสมือนจริงของวัดพระราม จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา" มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาข้อมูลของเนื้อหาทางประวัติศาสตร์ที่สำคัญของวัดพระรามที่ถูกมองข้ามไป 2) วิเคราะห์แนวทางการสร้างประสบการณ์เสมือนจริงในการเข้าถึงเนื้อหาทางประวัติศาสตร์ 3) ออกแบบและพัฒนาตัวต้นแบบการสร้างประสบการณ์เสมือนจริงในการเข้าถึงเนื้อหาทางประวัติศาสตร์ โดยวัดพระรามเป็นวัดที่มีเนื้อหาทางประวัติศาสตร์หลายอย่างที่น่าสนใจ แต่นักท่องเที่ยวส่วนใหญ่อาจไม่เคยรับรู้มาก่อน ทำให้สิ่งเหล่านี้ถูกมองข้ามไป จึงเริ่มรวบรวมข้อมูลปฐมภูมิจากการลงพื้นที่ศึกษาข้อมูลในวัดพระราม พิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติจำนวน 3 แห่ง และข้อมูลเชิงลึกที่ได้รับจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านประวัติศาสตร์ รวมถึงข้อมูลทุติยภูมิจากการทบทวนวรรณกรรม พบว่ามีเนื้อหาทางประวัติศาสตร์ที่น่าสนใจทั้งหมด 15 ประเด็น ส่วนวิธีการนำเสนอเนื้อหา เริ่มจากการศึกษาข้อมูลของงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องและวิเคราะห์ความเหมาะสมต่อการใช้งานในพื้นที่วัดพระราม จึงได้ข้อสรุปว่าเทคโนโลยีความเป็นจริงเสริม (AR: Augmented Reality) เป็นวิธีที่เหมาะสมที่สุด ตัวต้นแบบมีทั้งส่วนที่ถูกนำเสนอในรูปแบบกายภาพ และรูปแบบดิจิทัล ซึ่งได้ถูกทดสอบการใช้งานและประเมินประสิทธิภาพโดยผู้เชี่ยวชาญ จากนั้นจึงถูกปรับปรุงแก้ไขและพัฒนาตามข้อเสนอแนะ เพื่อนำไปทดสอบและประเมินประสิทธิผลโดยนักท่องเที่ยว ผลลัพธ์ที่ได้คือตัวต้นแบบสามารถทำให้นักท่องเที่ยวรับรู้และเข้าใจถึงเนื้อหาทางประวัติศาสตร์ที่น่าสนใจของวัดพระราม ไม่ว่าจะเป็นสิ่งที่เคยมีอยู่มาก่อนในอดีต และสิ่งที่ยังคงมีอยู่แต่ไม่สามารถเข้าถึงได้แล้วในปัจจุบัน
