Abstract: This research aims to explore the modern innovative design methods of bronze mirror decorative patterns in the Song, Liao and Jin Dynasties and the inheritance of Chinese traditional art and culture. Starting from the theories of shape grammar, semiotics and parametric design, the researchers extracted the design elements of traditional patterns and systematically analyzed the formal characteristics, cultural implications and design logic of bronze mirror patterns in the Song, Liao and Jin Dynasties. The research method adopts a mixed research method, combining qualitative and quantitative research methods. The qualitative research methods include literature research, comparative analysis, field investigation and expert consultation. The quantitative research adopts a questionnaire survey method to investigate the target population's awareness and satisfaction with the bronze mirror decorative patterns in the Song, Liao and Jin Dynasties, as well as their needs and suggestions for the innovative design of modern bronze mirror decorative patterns. The research results show that the innovative design of bronze mirror patterns combined with shape grammar has enriched the new form of Chinese traditional cultural creative design, and at the same time provided support and reference for the modernization and digital reconstruction of traditional patterns and contemporary innovative design, and promoted the inheritance of Chinese cultural and artistic heritage.
