READINESS OF BUSINESS EXPANSION OF SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT SMES IN THAILAND TOWARD THE ASEAN ECONOMIC COMMUNITY (AEC)

Abstract

This paper reviews the literature on the readiness for business expansion and the key factors which indicate the readiness of Software Development SMEs in Thailand for business expansion in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The purpose of this study is to study the level of knowledge required for their business expansion to other countries and also the methods employed in the preparation of this knowledge. This research will be of benefit to software development SMEs in Thailand. Moreover, it will help as a guideline for SMEs to acquire the necessary knowledge to expand their business to the AEC. To investigate the readiness for business expansion to the AEC, the study will be a qualitative research using in-depth interviews to collect the data from nine software development SMEs in Bangkok.
