THE DEVELOPMENT OF CRITICAL READING ABILITY OF MATTHAYOMSUKSA FOUR STUDENTS BY USING THE SQ5R METHOD

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to 1) compare critical reading ability of Matthayomsuksa 4 students before and after learning by using the SQ5R method and 2) study the students’ opinions towards the SQ5R method. The samples were the students in Matthayomsuksa 4/4 at Phrapathom Witthayalai School, the Educational Service Area Office 9 in the 1st semester, academic year 2017 included 34 students by simple random sampling.

The instruments included 1) critical reading learning plans by using the SQ5R method, 2) critical reading ability test and 3) students’ satisfaction questionnaire toward critical reading learning by using the SQ5R method. The data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation (S.D.), t-test Dependent Samples and content analysis.

The research results findings were as follows:

1.The posttest scores in critical reading ability of Matthayomsuksa 4 students after using the SQ5R method were significantly higher than before using the SQ5R method at .05 level of statistical significance.

2.The students’ opinions of towards the SQ5R method were at the highest level.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เปรียบเทียบความสามารถด้านการอ่านอย่างมีวิจารณญาณของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4 ก่อนและหลังการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยวิธีสอนแบบ SQ5R 2) ศึกษาความคิดเห็นของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4 ที่มีต่อการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยวิธีสอนแบบ SQ5R กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4/4 โรงเรียนพระปฐมวิทยาลัย อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครปฐม สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษาเขต 9 ที่กำลังศึกษาอยู่ในภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2560 จำนวน 34 คน ซึ่งได้ด้วยวิธีการสุ่มอย่างง่าย (Simple Random Sampling) ด้วยวิธีการจับสลากโดยใช้ห้องเรียนเป็นหน่วยสุ่ม

เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ประกอบด้วย 1) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้การอ่านอย่างมีวิจารณญาณโดยวิธีสอนแบบ SQ5R 2) แบบทดสอบวัดความสามารถด้านการอ่านอย่างมีวิจารณญาณ 3) แบบสอบถามความคิดเห็นของนักเรียนที่มีต่อการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยวิธีสอน แบบ SQ5R การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (S.D.) การทดสอบค่าที แบบไม่เป็นอิสระต่อกัน (t-test dependent) และการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา (Content Analysis)

ผลการวิจัย พบว่า

1.ความสามารถด้านการอ่านอย่างมีวิจารณญาณของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4 หลังการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยวิธีสอนแบบ SQ5R สูงกว่าก่อนการจัดการเรียนรู้อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ ที่ระดับ .05

2.ความคิดเห็นของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4 ที่มีต่อการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยวิธีสอนแบบ SQ5R ในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับเห็นด้วยมากที่สุด
