Abstract: Underground architecture in the early age, according to the history of architecture, was built with the natural conditions to protect humans from dangerous environment. Later, it has been developed for many purposes such as agricultural, religious, and sheltering purposes. Its sizes have been also extended from one-family to communal sizes. Bernard Rudofsky, in his books ‘Architecture without Architect, illustrates the interesting aspect of blank space of underground architecture caused by weather and Chinese local architecture. From the studies of this text, it was found that underground architecture was influenced by all environmental contexts, namely geography, weather, social conditions such as warfare. Nowadays underground architecture is influenced by the development of urban which requires wider and bigger spaces responding with the needs of protection, harmony, and relation with environmental context. The Objective is to study the level of space which identifies the underground architecture, the perception of underground architecture and how different between underground and upper in place above solid and void and blockade form. Experimenting of designing that support and contradict with crowed urban. The rising number of population effecting the use of public spaces which consists of various activities. The spaces were experimented must have at least 20 people per minute. The experimental conditions of designing underground architecture in urban area lead at of the conditions of choosing locations and contexts to study the experimental designs of underground architecture responding the needs of protection, harmony and relation to the context. In this project; Victory Monument, Phayathai area; is considered.  In the process of experiment of various activities on the same location, the difference in the process of perception making was made for the users in the dimensional perception and relation to the context which would happen in underground architecture crowded and superimposed with the activities. These locations are limited in the height of buildings due to the scenery of the city. The expected result is to use underground architecture in application with public spaces, whereas the identity of the location is still showed by separate the activity areas with visual-ordering techniques, perception in architecture. The using of location still supports the movement and migration of the population or users and allows user to perceive and know what is happening on the ground while they are underground. The conditions of underground architecture are developed to be applicable with present urban context
