Abstract: The purposes of this research are to study of techniques and styles of sculpture that was created by the sculptor Peng Song during 1964-1997 and to analyze the beliefs and concepts of making Chinese sculptures in Thailand in the second half of the 19th Century through sculptures created by Peng Song.  In addition, this study serves as a database and guidelines for the conservation of sculpture works of Peng Song. The results can be summarized as follows: 1. The Unique processes and materials of sculptures created by Peng Song are the use of cloth, paper, and lacquer. Therefore, the sculptures have lightweight and easy handling even with a large dimension. Most of his techniques originated from China which have a long history of this technique but a few of techniques should be improved by himself because materials are easier to find, stronger, and shorter than the ancient technique. As a result of specific forms of the craftsmen and improved the materials, the sculptures of Peng Song were thicker than the sculptures made of cloth, paper, and lacquer which were imported from China in the reign of King Rama V. 2. The style of Peng Song's sculpture can be divided into 2 periods. During the first half (1957-1983), the sculpture shows the adoption of a form that comes from the older Chinese art. The sculptor created a number of new sculptural styles that are truly unique. In the second half (1957-1997), he reused the unpopular design and adopted the new style directly from China. Some of the works in this period were less exquisite because of the cost reduction. 3. There are three main Chinese beliefs expressed through the sculptures of Chang Peng. The first, Chinese beliefs that are different from the traditional beliefs in China emerged from the fusion of Thai beliefs. This type of belief is demonstrated through Jiu Huang Fo Zu deity sculptures. The second, new beliefs that are evident through Guanyu deity and Tara came from China. The last, beliefs that are evident through the increase in Ta Feng Zu Shi monk and confusion of Shui Wei Sheng Nieng and Ma Zu goddess related to the cultures of the Chinese immigrants of five Chinese dialect groups.
