Textured Dog by Thanatnoond Kumprommarat (2010), Sanamchandra Art Gallery Conservation of a ceramic sculpture   This paper presents a conservation case study of "Textured Dog," a black-and-white striped ceramic sculpture by Thanatnoond Kumprommarat (2010). It forms part of the eight-piece ceramic dog installation, Pi Lam (หมาลาย), an outdoor artwork displayed on the premises of the Sanamchandra Art Gallery in Bangkok. The sculpture is crafted from local clay and finished with a low-firing glaze. This specific dog was found in multiple broken pieces and poor condition due to prolonged outdoor exposure, which caused extensive damage, significantly compromising its structural integrity and appearance. The primary objective of this study is to restore the damaged object through a systematic conservation process, including documentation, cleaning, stabilisation, and restoration. Additionally, the project involves designing and fabricating a custom transportation container to ensure the sculpture’s safety during relocation to its original site and for long-term storage.en
