Abstract

ในปี ค.ศ. 1921 โคโค่ ชาแนลได้ออกจำหน่ายน้ำหอม ชาแนล นัมเบอร์ไฟว์ ออกมาครั้งแรกที่ ปารีส ซึ่งมีความโดดเด่น และกลิ่นที่ร่วมสมัยที่ปรากฏวัฒนธรรม ประวัติศาสตร์ แนวคิดแบบใหม่ของยุคสมัย ผู้วิจัยเริ่มต้นศึกษายุค “Années Folles” และประพันธ์ดนตรีโดยใช้แนวความคิด สุนทรียศาสตร์จากดนตรี ศิลปะ และการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสังคมที่มีลักษณะเฉพาะผ่านการศึกษาน้ำหอมชาแนล นัมเบอร์ไฟว์ คำถามของผู้วิจัย คือ ความเชื่อมโยงระหว่างดนตรี สังคม และศิลปะ แท้จริงแล้ว คืออะไร ? มันสามารถเชื่อมโยงและหยิบยืมเรื่องราวทางประวัติศาสตร์นำมาสะท้อนผ่านดนตรีได้หรือไม่ ? คำตอบได้ถูกแสดงออกผ่านชุดผลงานทางดนตรีที่เกิดจากการสำรวจเรื่องราวประวัติศาสตร์ที่ ซับซ้อน จนเกิดเป็นบทประพันธ์ที่มีความหลากหลายทั้งทางเทคนิค และสุทรียศาสตร์ 5 บทประพันธ์ ดังนี้ 1. ‘1921, Les Cinq Doigts & No. 5’ 5’21” 2. ‘A Woman Who Wears Perfume.’ 8’72” 3. ‘Libération.’ 6’41 4. ‘OES, TOF.’ 5. ‘Lucky No. 5’ 9’35” In 1921, Coco Chanel launched her perfume Chanel No. 5 in Paris. Its unique and modern scent revolutionized people’s perception and infused the cultural history that followed with new ideas. Using the ‘Années Folles’(1920s) as a starting point, the composer borrows ideas and aesthetics from the Music, Arts and social changes that characterized those vibrant years to musically investigate the culture and history that surrounds this worldfamous perfume as well as looking at the influence those revolutions had on the subsequent musical evolution. What are the intrinsic connections that link the arts, society and music ? How can the artistic ideas borrowed from that rich history of cultural chemistry be reflected through music ? These questions are expressed through a set of musical compositions exploring various aspects of this complex history.
