Abstract

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มุ่งศึกษาทฤษฎีเกี่ยวกับการสร้างรูปทรงของสี่เหลี่ยมเก้าช่อง ที่ใช้การออกแบบสถาปัตยกรรม เพื่อให้เข้าใจว่ารูปทรงสี่เหลี่ยมเก้าช่อง มีความสัมพันธ์กับการนำมาออกแบบ ระบบผังอาคาร ที่สามารถใช้กำหนดรูปทรงทางกายภาพจนสามารถใช้เป็นขอบเขตเพื่อกำหนดหน้าที่อย่างเป็นระบบ สัมพันธ์กับโครงสร้างทางสถาปัตยกรรม ตลอดจนการนำมาใช้ในระบบผังเมือง ที่มีการแบ่งการใช้งานเป็นระบบทางสัญจร การแยกพื้นที่ สาธารณะ และพื้นที่อยู่อาศัยอย่างเป็นระบบ การเปลี่ยนรูปทรงเก้าช่องสู่สถาปัตยกรรม (Transformation of Nine - Square Grid to Architecture) มีขั้นตอนการศึกษางานผ่านสถาปัตยกรรมประวัติศาสตร์ของการใช้รูปทรงเก้าช่องเพื่อการออกแบบของ 9 สถาปนิก 9 โครงการที่แตกต่างกัน เพื่อสร้างความเข้าใจถึงวัตถุประสงค์เกี่ยวกับการออกแบบ และนำมาเป็นข้อสรุปของการออกแบบ รวมทั้งการทดลองผ่านหุ่นจำลองของรูปทรงเก้าช่อง เพื่อศึกษาการเปลี่ยนรูปทรงเป็นแบบต่างๆ แสดงให้เห็นข้อจำกัดของรูปทรง จนค้นพบพื้นที่แกนกลางที่เป็นหัวใจหลักของรูปทรง จนนำไปสู่การออกแบบและทดลองทางสถาปัตยกรรม เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความหมาย หรือความสำคัญของสถาปัตยกรรมโมเดิร์นของไทยกับอาคารศาลากลางหลังเก่าจังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา โดยใช้ระบบสี่เหลี่ยมเก้าช่องทาบลงบนผังพื้นโดยรอบและทำการออกแบบเพื่อให้สัมพันธ์กับอาณาเขต และแสดงความหมายใหม่ของรูปทรง
